What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces by using a series of custom made aligners fabricated with 3-D computer imaging. The aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing, and you can still eat and drink what you want. Also, you can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth, and there are no wires, metal or brackets to cause sores in your mouth.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign moves your teeth little by little, week by week until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Garfinkle has prescribed. Each aligner in the series is worn for 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. You'll visit Dr. Garfinkle about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned and to pick up the next set of aligners. Total treatment time averages between 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case. Invisalign is suitable for many different clinical situations such as crowding, openbites, and deepbites. Both Teens and Adults may be candidates for Invisalign, so if you are interested in this treatment option, be sure to mention it during your initial consultation.

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem.
